Contemporary Dance Immersion

The Contemporary Dance Immersion (CDI) is a partnership between UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts and the Irvine Barclay Theatre which provides an opportunity for Claire Trevor School of the Arts Department of Dance students and Orange County area high school students to gain insight into contemporary dance through interaction with the contemporary dance companies performing as part of the Irvine Barclay Theatre's season. The mission of Contemporary Dance Immersion is to provide students with insight and immersion into the world of dance at the highest level, to allow them to explore the mechanics, function and logistics of these touring groups, to inspire and motivate the scholars as artists and to develop their sense of aesthetics, knowledge and awareness of contemporary dance. CDI scholars receive a free ticket to the companies' performance at the Barclay and get exclusive access to the companies through lectures, master classes, backstage tours and Q&A discussions.
