Music Theatre Camp

The Music Theatre Camp, designed by Drama faculty at UC Irvine’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts, is a conservatory intensive to help hone students’ essential skills so they are prepared for the demands of a Broadway career. Campers will take part daily in intensive voice, acting, and dance workshops, and will have a “work in progress” showing on the last day of camp. UCI’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts Music Theatre faculty works closely with students, giving one-on-one feedback to address individual weaknesses and strengths.

Theatre Camp

UC Irvine’s Claire Trevor School of the Arts Drama Department offers a summer acting camp conservatory for students training in Drama. The week’s activities
involve intensive training in the craft of acting through theatre games, scene and monologue work and improvisation as well as singing for the actor. The workshops are designed to incite the creative imagination of each participant and to encourage taking safe risks while honing their acting skills. Under the guidance of the acclaimed UC Irvine Claire Trevor School of the Arts Drama faculty, students will explore external performance techniques in comedy, improvisation, character analysis, movement, and stage combat.

Contemporary Dance Immersion

The Contemporary Dance Immersion (CDI) is a partnership between UC Irvine's Claire Trevor School of the Arts and the Irvine Barclay Theatre which provides an opportunity for Claire Trevor School of the Arts Department of Dance students and Orange County area high school students to gain insight into contemporary dance through interaction with the contemporary dance companies performing as part of the Irvine Barclay Theatre's season. The mission of Contemporary Dance Immersion is to provide students with insight and immersion into the world of dance at the highest level, to allow them to explore the mechanics, function and logistics of these touring groups, to inspire and motivate the scholars as artists and to develop their sense of aesthetics, knowledge and awareness of contemporary dance. CDI scholars receive a free ticket to the companies' performance at the Barclay and get exclusive access to the companies through lectures, master classes, backstage tours and Q&A discussions.
