"It’s such an incredible and fascinating experience to be part of a Broadway-style production in the Segerstrom Hall with an orchestra, choir and cast of over 500 people," said Lu. "Messiah in America is centered around peace, redemption and everlasting love. As a musician, it’s deeply meaningful to help bring that message to life through tender, joyful, and at times thunderously powerful music. I hope to be part of the audience; you can leave feeling uplifted and inspired by the beauty and spiritual depth of the performance, with breathtaking music and stunning stage design."
Featuring a moving original score by Billboard-charting composer Brett Stewart and performances by the acclaimed vocal trio GENTRI, the performance explores themes of hope, unity and divine love. The show depicts Jesus Christ’s visit to the Americas, delivering a message of peace and redemption through an immersive musical and theatrical experience.
Chao and Lu’s participation exemplifies how UC Irvine’s Department of Music prepares students for high-caliber professional opportunities while still in school. Don’t miss this unforgettable performance, where academic training and professional artistry converge.
